The Mission

Are you an aspiring, budding or experienced writer looking to write about societal issues such as violence against women and girls, the fight for public spaces to become safer and to create a culture of support? We’d love you to get involved with our articles team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because of the nature of SafelyHome, the call comes through your speakers, like you're playing a song. So make sure you've increased your volume to a level where you can hear it! If you have headphones on, it will come through those.

No! Once you've downloaded SafelyHome, you can use all of its features without needing any outside connection, be that signal, data, or WiFi. Simply download the app from your App Store and you're ready to go!

That's no problem - one of SafelyHome's primary features is the ability to simulate a call yourself. You can select a 'New Contact', add/change the phone number or name, and schedule it or immediately accept the call!

The short answer is that we don't make money. We have promised to keep SafelyHome free to everyone, with no adverts, or paywalls, or anything that might hinder your experience. Forever. You're welcome to donate to SafelyHome through this website or our app, but never give what you cannot afford - we will do what we can to keep funding this so you can have peace of mind and the knowledge that we won't ever shut you out. It's part of the reason we started SafelyHome - so many safety apps are paywalled or cost you money. But public safety should be a right for all.

We would love to hear your thoughts, questions, and feedback! You can reach us quickest through our social media pages, or email us. We built SafelyHome to be a community, and we want to involve as many people as possible in making a difference!

No, the SafelyHome app does not collect your data in any way. We've designed this app to be yours, so once you've downloaded it everything on the app is your own. And if and when you record a call, it will save to your system, not ours!

SafelyHome was made with a core mission to assist people who feel unsafe and do not have the ability to call someone and talk for reassurance and deterrence purposes. It's a phone-call simulation app for those moments when you don't have signal, or it's late at night, or you don't have someone to call. It is really important to us that if you need to call someone, or an emergency service or support line, and have the ability to do so then please call them before you consider using SafelyHome.

SafelyHome is a phone-call simulation app. It is not a call line and as a result there are not 'real' people to call. We have over 40 hours of recorded voice calls to choose from, but we recommend that if you can call someone, please do. There are services like StrutSafe if you need someone to talk to and have service.
